YesBut its another Red Light Day

Other people have “Red Letter” days, I have “Red Light” days. No not that kind of Red Light - though when we were in Amsterdam, Mrs YesBut insisted we took a tour of the Red Light district, but I kept my eyes averted throughout, (I nearly typed inverted then - but thought “eyes inverted“ does that mean looking through the back of your head? - Mrs YesBut says I talk through the back of my head!)).

No a Red Light day is when your going somewhere the traffic light turns red as you approach it. As apposed to a ”Green Light” day when the trafic light turns green as you approach it, and the next and the next does the same.

Have you noticed you normally get a Green Light Day when your not going anywhere important. Where in contrast Red Light days always occur when you are on your way to an important appointment, and you are running ten minutes late.

If travelling by public transport on Green Light Days, the bus just arrives as you arrive at the bus stop. Then it travels uninterrupted to your destination. While on Red Light Days, the bus has just left as you arrive at the bus stop. The next bus which is scheduled to arrive in ten minutes doesn’t turn-up; but two arrive after twenty minutes. Then the bus you have chosen to board stops at every bus stop, while the other bus speeds happily along. Not only that, all the people boarding the bus are passengers from hell. They either try to get away with not paying the fare or give a £50 note - which results with an argument with the driver over change. Then there’s the mother with the unruly kid who refuses to get on the bus and then refuses to get off the bus. All the time you’re sitting next to some youth playing his iPod, so all you hear is the buff buff buff of the base notes. While the girl sitting behind is holding a long distance conversation on her phone (well I assume she has a phone, she’s shouting so loud they could hear her in Australia).
