People plant trees in memory of loved ones.
The Christmas Tree in London's Trafalgar Square is of historical significance.
Since 1947 a tree has been given annually by the city of Oslo as a token of Norwegian gratitude to the people of London for their assistance provided during the years 1940 ~ 1945.
