Memorials can take many forms and commemorate a vast array of events or people.



On the north side of the plaza in front of St Paul's Cathedral there is an arc of trees.









At the base of each tree there is a plaque detailing who sponsored the planting of the tree and the event commemorated.

The tree might survive far longer than the plaque or the memory of the event commemorated.
